I am planning my Halloween 2009 wedding and am currently in the creation of the candy buffet. My colors are black and purple and nothing else at the wedding is really orange (except adorable treat bags I found). Today I found awesome bat shaped candies that are black and purple- I love them! I want them, but I also don’t want to disrupt the flow of the presentation. It may sound weird but I am a little "exact" when it comes to things like this and I want it to be perfect! What do you think?
Oopsie guys- I meant that the candies I just found (the bats) are black and ORANGE- not purple! My bad…!
If they are black and purple, don’t they already fit your buffet color theme?
Anybody who knows about fitness can help. ![]()
I did this last year, I lost 40 lbs in 4 months! But what I did was counted my calories. take your weight and times it by 16. What ever you come up with is what you’re supposed to consume per day to maintain your weight. If you want to lose just cut that in half. I went the extra mile and I consumed 500 calories a day. It worked really fast! I also ate alot of sandwiches and NO POP! LOL …lots of water.
Hope this helps! Good luck!
im 20 years old and im only 110lbs but i would like to tone my body for my wedding, is there a way to get in shape and tone without losing weight? i run with 2lb weights but it doesn’t seem to help i just keep dropping lbs. i would like to go up to 125 and be tones please help!
Hi and congratulations!
You need to lift weights. Continue with some aerobics also, but quit running with weights (to be honest, I have never heard of that.) Also, don’t think that you are going to "bulk up" by lifting….that is a total myth.
If you have access to free weights, that is the best. Or, if you can join a gym for a short time….that would be even better. The people at the gym can show you what you need to do. You can also look this up online. You need to do 3 sets of each exercise with a total of about 8-10 repetitions each time.
If you don’t have access to free weights or enough money to join a gym, you can do simple things at home! Push ups are great as are tricep push ups (chest and arms). Do crunches for abs and do the plank (look it up) for your core training. You can also do simple things such as toe touches, squats, lunges. Anything to work your muscles.
Hope this helps!

Oh and I’m 21, 5′3, 130 lbs (I gained 5 for some reason, thats why I’m doing this) I am wanting to get down to at least 120lbs, but would rather be 115lbs… Doing this howlong do you think it would take for me to reach the goal of 120lbs? what about 115lbs? I am hoping to be done intime for summer! Thanks!
potatos are veggies & all veggies have carbs… they are just the good kind!
I will make it 2 servings of veggies then…
what if I snack on grapes, watermelon, & cantelope in between meals? Would that be good… because I buy those little snack trays all the time (love em) they have all of those in them….
It looks good, however it will take longer this way. Your body really NEEDS to eat 7 times a day. I have no idea where this concept of 3 meals a day came from but its not what our bodys want or need. You should never ever ever feel hungry. Im not saying to eat 6 HUGE meals a day but heres what I do to keep in shape. When you wake up in the morning first thing you do is eat a very small breakfast; like a yogurt. Breakfast litterally means breaking a fast. You don’t eat for 8 hours so you need to slowly wake up your metabalism with a very small meal. Thats meal one. Two hours later you eat your real breakfast. One portion of protien and one portion of GOOD carbs (Oatmeal for example… No bread ever) and one portion fruit. Remember a portion is about the size of your fist. So don’t over eat. 2 – 3 hours later have a low fat low carb protien bar. Don’t get those candy kind. They are for people trying to bulk up. You want to lose weight so you need as little sugar as possible. Remember High protien low carbs. You could also do a protien shake. 2 – 3 hours later eat another meal. Lean meat or poultry is good and yes potatoes are good too. Anything like you have for your dinner is very good for lunch. Just one portion of carbs and one portion of protien this meal tho… 2 – 3 hours later another protien bar or shake. 2 – 3 hours later a SMALL dinner. Keep a portion of protien but cut the carb portion in half. Right before bed you need a protien shake. No protien bars this time. Only shakes b4 bed. By the way in all of this you need 2 gallons of water throughout the day. Sounds like alot but its not hard to do. Just get a 2 litter water bottle and go to town as many times as you can in a day. Don’t but dumb and drink it all at once tho… The point is to space it out so you dont get dehydrated.
Now to working out… The best way to wake up EARLY do cardio for at least 30 min. Then resistance train for 30. No breaks tho keep the heart moving. Also after your work out drink a protien shake and this wont count as a meal… but then one of your real meals needs to be put one hour after workout.
I really have to go because class is going to start soon but if you have more questions about working out for lean muscle or what to eat or anything e-mail me and I will let you know.
Just remember muscle is key to burning fat. NOTHING ELSE!!! If you eat healthy for a while you will lose weight but when you stop you gain back the weight plus more… However, if you lose the weight stop eating healthy and continue to work out you maintain your weight. Its the only way to go.
Like I said I gotta go but just let me know if you have questions about meal plan, why protien is important, what protien is best, how to do resistance training, or anything… Just e-mail me.

I have been suffereing from severe pain for a year now. I used to be a fitness trainer and now am unable to do any type of physical activity. I am also a newly wed who had hopes of starting a family 6 months ago. I am unable to find a doctor who is familiar with slipped rib syndrome (also known as rib tip syndrome, and painful rib syndrome). I am desperate for pain relief and to have my life back to normal. My life is a mess due to this. Is there anybody out there who is familiar with slipped rib syndrome?
Hi, I am a 35 year old female in great physical shape. In jan 2006 I had to have an emergency gallbladder removal for stones, during the surgery the scope peirced my rt rib tissue, (10,11,12th rib) I started bleeding heavily so they applied pressure and my rib slipped. Ever since then i have been in pain, horrible pain. I understand how you feel, after going to primary care doc several times and being on lortabs for 2 months , who in fact believed my pain was my ribs (we saw it hanging in an x-ray) I still got nowhere, (the surgeon brushed off my complaints for 2 months after surgery) I finally went online and researched everything on ribs, I then called a thoracic surgeon,DO and basically begged them to help me, (he knows of the emer. surgeon and called him a pompous ass) anyhoo, this thoracic surgeon hooked me up with a pain guy who performed trigger point injections in my ribs-OUCH, I had it done may 06 and the relief lasted about 1.5 months, cost my ins. co $700.00 and $100.00 to me. Well my point is – this sucks and my pain is back, when I cough, turn over, turn wrong, it hurts no rhyme or reason. the thoracic surgeon said I can have a rib reduction done, 5 in cut, remove tips of 10,11,12th ribs. Hmmm, not sure I want to, scary.
My point is, SEE A THORACIC SURGEON!!! I hope you get better soon, I have 3 children and they are so fun and amazing, God bless you and yours, Susan
has anyone here tried those DVDs they look like a lot of fun and want to try it out..Any girls here had success using this? I need to loose weight by September cuz im gonna be in a wedding and want to look good.
i agree with the first person. i’ve tried p90x and it’s amazing. it helps you lose weight and tone up without getting too bulky like a guy.
