My fiance & I got engaged, after 6 & half years of being together. We just bought a house September of 2009, but have lived together for 3 years. 3 weeks after we got engaged I found out I’m pregnant. Turns out after lots of pain, horrible doctors, 4 ER trips & 2 nights in the hospital. I had an ectopic pregnancy….My new doctor is worried with my family history & what happened that there maybe damage to my tube, if not now then the scare tissues later. He mentioned me go threw all this at 22 almost 23 vs waiting because it will be alot easier on my body. He has told me to finish healing (I’m bleeding alot its going down now) Get a normal period, then go from there on trying again if we are ready. (we weren’t trying to start with, I forgot my pills needed filled so we said screw it wait till next time but next time didn’t come) But he isn’t promising anything later (I know miracles happen but I’m not banking on that)
We had a wedding planned! I’m not sure what to do. We did figure it out that we don’t want to spend a ton of money on a wedding. We are just going to do a wedding at the beach, with parents, siblings, wedding party, grandparents. (maybe baby) & then have a short honeymoon while we are there since my fiance will not have very much vacation time.
We figured it out if we are lucky enough to get pregnant & everything be ok…before the end of September 2010. We would have about 12-14 weeks after the baby is born. For me to get in shape & for me to find a dress etc. We have paid some already on the wedding so we don’t want to loose that money.
wow I can see people (woman) who are going threw this wedding or not, are a ton nicer then when I posted in the wedding or marriage categories!
I don’t want to say "i do" pregnant. But I don’t want to miss out on having a child either. I don’t want to be that 80 year old woman who’s nephew comes once a year to see her.
i think you should go for it, we have our wedding booked for 2012 but have said we will be trying up until october of next year so that i wont be pregnant on the day but i don’t see anything wrong with anybody trying as long as they are ready and if it will be easier on your body to do it sooner rather than later then go for it, good luck

I should think you would be able to buy heart shaped paper, my little girls had that kind of paper before. I’d try a hobbie craft shop(hobby craft), you can buy heart shaped post it notes but their sell cutters good luck finding some.
I got a membership at the gym and started going this week. I went on monday, worked out for an hour-lifting weights in my upper arm area. The next day my body was throbbing with aches in my arm and this continued on tues, wed, and thurs. I went back to the gym today and worked out for about an hour.
I want to work out for an hour 5x a week to build muscles, abs, 6-pk, not to mention gain weight.
I have a high metabolism.
How long should it take to get in shape. I’m 25years old, 6ft, 150lbs and this was my 1st time working out since Aug 08.
Perhaps six months, but a lot depends on what that shape is
I’ve been dress-shopping for 6 months now (engaged last December) and I finally found my perfect casual, elegant dress online, on Nordstrom’s site (there are no Nordstrom’s in Canada). With shipping, it would be less than $200. I am getting in shape before the wedding and the dress can be altered/taken in if need be. The company does accept returns/refunds if I hate it, but all the reviews have been really positive.
It’s so early, though! The wedding’s not until August 2011. Should I take a chance and order it, or do you think that’s a bit ridiculous? My tastes are so particular that I was thinking I’d have to have one specially made, and I was thrilled to stumble across this one.
Thanks girls, I think I’m going to hold off. If I really want it in like a year, it’ll still be there, so…no rush. Plus there is at least one thing I’d want to change about it, and I still have a long time to find one that’s perfect.
I wouldn’t, you could gain or loose weight due to stress of planning the wedding. then again you can always get it fitted which is going to cost you. you might even find another better, then it will be to late because you got one already.
I had a baby in January and my body is still not in the best of shape. I also quit smoking, drinking, and taking my prescribed medication when I got pregnant so I gained alot of extra weight..which is sad that I ended up looking like this but Im very happy for my very healthy little boy. Any ways…I am getting married in August and I do exercise, eat healthy and all that jazz. I am slowly losing weight but I know I will still feel uncomfortable in my own skin by the time the wedding rolls around. My fiance is amazing and loves me no matter what…I just want to look great. We dont have very many good bridal shops around here so I dont get very much help on what would be flattering to my body. I was also needing to find a good..no GREAT form of shapewear. Can anyone suggest anything?
Shop HSN.com and QVC.com for shapewear because if it doesn’t work, you can send it back
within 30 days. Leave it on for however long you will be wearing it on your wedding day to be sure it really works for you. Dress shape: empire waist with a soft a-line skirt.
My sister-in-law is getting married on August 10th and has just started to plan her wedding, and has asked for my help. She wants to do a medieval themed wedding with castles and dragons. So far the only ideas are to do a castle shaped wedding cake and pewter dragons for table centerpieces. She wants light purple, green, and white for her colors. And she loves lilacs but they aren’t in season in August. The reception will be indoors in a church’s multi-purpose room. The only thing provided are tables and chairs. I would appreciate any and all ideas!
I agree MCMANRULES2007, but how could I tell my sister-in-law that? I’m just here to help her have what she wants.
She’s decided not to do any kind of wedding party, since she doesn’t have the money and doesn’t feel right asking everyone to get matching clothes. So the costume idea is out too I guess. I’m looking for ideas for decorating, flowers, favors, and stuff like that.
Use tall wrought iron candle holders around the room
Rent the standing medival soilders in costume and have them standing at attention holding swords next to the main doors.
get styrafoam blocks and spray paint them to look like old stone. Sorround the DJ booth (if you are having one) and other tables like cake table and buffet tables so it looks like they are made of stone walls.
Have a dragon ice scuplture
Have a sweetheart table with name plates on the charis reading Prince Charming and Fair Princess
Tables should be long banquet style tables with goblets for drinking wine
Food should be large turkey legs like at the medival dinner parties
Use costumes for the waitstaff so you are being served by wenches and blacksmiths etc…
I am getting married in Vegas this July. I don’t want an extremely formal dress but I want something classy. So Which one would be the best dress of the following options. And in case this helps my complexion is olive (sorta the same color as Penelope Cruz or Kim Kardashian).
thx

I like the choices ypu picked out!
By FAR my favorite is the third dress! GORGEOUS! Its classy and really a great dress.
I also like the forth dress it is a little more simple than the third.
The comments I have for first two are: The first one is going to show all the flaws that a typical woman has because of the fabric and I dont really like that material.
The second dress is really not that wedding-like Its almost tooo simple.
BEST CHOICE Third Dress!
I hope I helped!
I have a marquise diamond now. I really don’t want a different ring, I just don’t like marquise diamonds very much. Cost was an issue when my husband and I got married so we kinda settled with what we bought. I thought about having my ring melted down, but I wanted to see all my options first.
you probably could have another diamond re-set in the ring, i mean, really anything is possible, it is just a matter of how much you are wanting to spend on it…but i would say yes, that is a realistic thing to consider, but really your best bet is to just go and find the best goldsmith you can and see what they say…good luck!
Okay I have started working out to get in basketball shape for tryouts. I was cut this past year which was my sophmore year.I had a talk with the coach he said since im always getting to school very early to workout, run or shootaround I have a good chance in making it next year. He also said I need to get in shape right now I weight around 175 lb. with a height of 5′6" I don’t know my body fat %. I am trying to lower my body fat and gain muscle. My current workout is Mon/Wed/Fri is upper body with sprints or stairs in the morning also abs workout. Then on Tues/Thurs is lower body. On Saturdays I do long distance like 2-3 miles. Sunday is rest day. Then the following week it would be the other way around with Lowe body on Mon/Wed/ Fri and Upper body on Tues/Thurs.
On my diet I haven’t taken a sip of soda in almost a year and lost like 10 lb. i have cut all the junk food like chips, candies and donuts. I have been eating more greens and fruits. Also drink like a gallon and a half a day.
I hear to lower body fat I need to consume less calories and burn more. If there is anybody than can help me on giving me anyother tips or anything I would appreciate it.
Hey
I just found this awesome article on "the science behind weight loss". I got it from dietnation.com but I’ll paste it here to save you the trouble:
"Your body needs a certain amount of calories each day to maintain performance of normal activities, such as walking, breathing, sleeping, and thinking. Depending on your size, your body will require a different amount of calories each day.
On the flip side, if you eat too few calories your body will think its starving. This phenomenon goes back to the days of the caveman, when cave people weren’t really sure when or where they would find their next meal. The body learned to store excess calories as fat for future use. Well, we no longer live like that as we, fortunately and unfortunately, have unlimited access to food thanks to modern conveniences. What this means is, if you’re not eating enough calories your body will store the calories it does get as fat rather than trying to burn those calories. That sounds counterproductive, and it is. That’s why it’s important to feed your body regularly with the right amount of calories from the right sources.
One pound of fat equals about 3500 calories of stored energy. To lose weight you need to eat fewer calories each day or get your butt to the gym and burn off those calories. It’s that easy – you don’t need to be a mathematician to lose weight, you just need to start taking a look at some of your daily habits. Losing weight could mean shaving an extra 250-500 calories off your daily intake. Start your morning with a tall latte? Just one Vanilla Latte could pack an extra 250+ calories onto your daily caloric intake. By simply substituting your latte with regular coffee or green tea you could reduce your caloric intake substantially. If you want to try more exercise, calorie-burning activities such as walking to work, going for a jog with a friend, or taking the kids on a bike ride are all fun and easy ways to increase your daily activity level.
It is also important to remember that you need to eat the right calories from the right sources to lose weight and to maintain your weight loss. A meal of jelly beans and ding dongs that equals your daily caloric needs will not help you lose weight because these types of food are not nutrient sources that your body can use efficiently.
Eating right is a vital component of any weight loss plan, but it’s also very important to ensure that you get enough exercise. Combine aerobic exercise activities (also know as cardio) like walking, jogging or cycling with weight training (it doesn’t have to be anything too intense, but it helps a lot to lift some weights) to maximize your weight loss."
I really like how this explains weight loss! Also while I was searching around I found this fantastic video which you should definitely check out, has a pile of great tips for how to shed the pounds: http://tinyurl.com/lose-weight-be-happy
I really hope this helps, the fact that you’re looking for help is a great start!
Good luck
I was very athletic in high school, and I’m ashamed to say that just six short years later, I now weight about 211 lbs (I’m only 5′4”). I literally can’t run for more than, like, 30 seconds without becoming winded. I am so self conscious about that that I rarely go to the gym or jog in my neighborhood anymore. I wish I could purchase a treadmill for home use because I really don’t mind working out–I just mind being seen in a struggle–but I can’t afford one right now. What are the best ways I can workout from home with no equipment? My goal is really to get in shape before my wedding in a year.
p.s. No Linsie is not getting married guys, calm down! (or fat for that matter haha) I am her friend and she told me to try for tips from you guys! thanks!
a lot of women in my family (including me) lost weight with the Weight Watchers program. It only cost about $15 per month and was a great support system. I didn’t have to worry about being embarrassed because I was with apoeple with the same problems as me.
if this is not an option for you then i would suggest cutting out the worst things in your diet. for instance, start week 1 with no sodas. don’t do anything else different. just don’t drink any sodas. then week 2 cut out desserts. so no sodas or desserts the second week. then week 3 maybe add potatoes to the do not eat list.
i know this isn’t the healthiest way to do it, but for people who struggle with dieting it actually works. it’s easier than trying to change your lifestyle all at once.
also, don’t start off running. maybe try walking at a comfortable pace for half a mile in week one. do this at least 5 days per week. then every week increase the distance a quarter mile. it will eventually get easier and eventually will be able to run longer distances.
just start off small and work your way up. also, the most important thing to remember is that when you make a mistake, don’t give up. just start all over the next day like it never happened. people can be really hard on themselves and give up too easily.
hope this helps, good luck
